After Day 2 of the ever-contentious recount for Minnesota’s open Senate seat, Republican incumbent Norm Coleman held onto his lead, though with 42.33 percent of ballots recounted, some votes have apparently slipped away.

Democratic challenger Al Franken has dipped into Coleman’s margin by 86 votes as of Thursday evening, according to the Secretary of State’s Office .

A margin of victory, based on original Election Day numbers, of less than 0.5 percent triggered the recount, in accordance with state law.

And during the ballot-by-ballot, by-hand recount, representatives from Coleman and Franken camps aren’t staying quiet.

For the second straight day, they repeatedly challenged election judges’ rulings on particular ballots, sending disputed ones before the canvassing board — the overarching body administering the recount — for final judgment.

Coleman representatives have challenged 360 ballots, while Franken has disputed 374 since the recount began.

The recount will continue today.

Why are new votes for Franken

Why are new votes for Franken being found, but none for Coleman? This is very suspect, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was foul play on the part of the failed, carpetbagging, ribald ex-comedian.

Sad thing is both of these guys suck

I'd like to hear more about the white guy that got sucker punched and then kicked in the face by those black guys, he went BLIND in one eye folks! Where are the people yelling hate crime about that?

Totally agree with that. I

Totally agree with that. I saw 6 black guys in baggy clothes on my block last weekend, not walking just gathered on the sidewalk. I should have called the cops on them for having drugs on them or somthing. Oh wait, is that a hate crime if a white kid does it as well? I hope they get what they deserve. I would like to hear more about the kid who's blind as well...
